Disney’s cruise ship has a new logo.
What’s the deal?
The new design was unveiled by Disney Cruise Lines chief operating officer David Nardini on Tuesday and has drawn a mixed response from some critics.
“Disney Cruise Lines is not going to win the hearts and minds of the public on this one,” said Richard Fisher, an author who is a professor at the University of Michigan’s Ann Arbor campus.
The new logo was designed by the theme park’s creative director, who is former Disney designer Tony Alamo, according to a press release.
Alamo said in the press release that the new logo is a tribute to the theme parks history.
The theme park also has an Instagram account, where it posts photos and videos of its ships.
But the accounts often draw criticism from those who believe the images are insensitive and offensive.
“Disney has been making a lot of money for the past decade, and they should be proud of the accomplishments they’ve built over the past two decades,” Fisher said.
Alamo said the new design is not an homage to the original design of the Disney cruise ships.
The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
“We’re just trying to make the world a better place,” Alamo told the AP.
“There are some things that were designed in the past that didn’t have to do with what we are doing today,” he added.
Disney’s Cruise Line has been around for more than a decade, but its name has come to be synonymous with the theme-park theme park.
The cruise ships are named after famous Disney characters, such as Rapunzel, Pocahontas, Snow White and Cinderella.
The Disney ships are the largest cruise ship on the planet and serve as Disney’s flagship brand.
They can travel up to 50,000 miles, according the company.
