Two boys charged with stealing $2,000 worth of tobacco from store

Two boys are charged with theft of more than $2.5 million worth of cigarettes from a tobacco shop in Brisbane’s north.

The boys, both 18, were arrested last night and will appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

The boys stole more than 50 cigarettes from the Tobacco Shop in North Brisbane, police said.

They were taken to a nearby shop and charged.

The alleged theft was reported to the Royal Commission into Trade Practices, which is investigating cigarette theft and smuggling.
